Evaluating Structured Documentation as a Tool for Reflexivity in Dataset Development

Through the analysis of dataset documentation frameworks and published applications of these frameworks, we find that structured documentation can help make dataset development more transparent but reflexivity requires deeper engagement with intellectual dispositions, power relations, historical context, institutional conditions, and social positions that shape research decisions.
